Internet Slowdown Disrupts Daily Life in Kabul
DID Press: As fiber-optic services remain suspended in several provinces of Afghanistan, Kabul residents are also experiencing severe disruptions in internet connectivity.

The outage affecting fiber services in ten provinces, coupled with a sharp slowdown in Kabul, has triggered frustration among many citizens.
Residents of the capital say the problem has hampered their work, education, and even personal communications.
Wajid, an employee at a pharmaceutical company in Kabul, voiced frustration over the poor connectivity: “Ninety percent of our work depends on the internet. Sometimes even when we send a location, it doesn’t go through, messages don’t deliver. This has caused serious problems in our official work.”
Students and social media users also reported that online classes have become extremely difficult due to the slow service.
Shams, another Kabul resident, believes lack of high-speed internet is holding people back in areas such as digital marketing.
“If we had fast internet, we could work more effectively and even provide services internationally,” he added.
