Taliban Responds to Trump: ‘Do Not Repeat Failed Past Experiences’

DID Press: Taliban sharply reacted to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump over Bagram air base, asking Washington to avoid “repeating past failures.”

In a statement released on Sunday (September 21), Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the caretaker government seeks positive and constructive relations with all countries based on “mutual interests and bilateral cooperation,” guided by principles of Sharia, balanced foreign policy, and economic priorities.

The statement stressed that in all negotiations with the United States, Afghanistan’s independence and territorial integrity were made clear as non-negotiable. Mujahid further recalled that under Doha Agreement, U.S. committed not to use force or threats against Afghanistan’s sovereignty, nor to interfere in its internal affairs.

He emphasized that Washington’s adherence to these commitments is essential, adding that “instead of repeating the failed experiences of the past, realistic and rational approaches must be pursued.”
