WFP: $568 Million Urgently Needed to Address Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Crisis
DID Press: UN World Food Programme (WFP) warned that it requires $568 million in immediate funding to sustain life-saving assistance in Afghanistan over the next six months. Without it, millions risk hunger and loss of critical aid.

The agency said that widespread food insecurity, recurring droughts, and the mass return of Afghanistan migrants from Iran and Pakistan have pushed Afghanistan families into deeper crisis than ever before.
WFP stressed that the country’s ongoing economic and climate crises are placing unbearable pressure on vulnerable households, and urgent international support is vital to prevent a further humanitarian disaster.
