Belgium Recognizes State of Palestine
DID Press: Belgian PM Bart De Wever announced that Belgium has joined the group of countries that officially recognize the State of Palestine.

Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the Belgian Prime Minister said: “Belgium is sending a strong political and diplomatic message to the world by joining the countries that have recognized the State of Palestine.”
“Effective diplomatic relations with the new Palestinian state—including opening of a Belgian embassy and the signing of international agreements—will take place once the goals outlined in the New York Declaration have been achieved,” he added.
So far, 157 UN member states have recognized the State of Palestine.
