Taliban: Strengthening Regional and Global Ties in Afghanistan’s Interest

DID Press: Taliban’s caretaker government reiterated that enhancing relations with regional and global partners serves Afghanistan’s best interests and can contribute to stability and development.

In response to statements made by world and regional leaders during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Taliban officials emphasized the importance of constructive diplomacy.

Hamidullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the caretaker government, said: “Afghanistan believes in strengthening ties with neighboring countries and the international community. These relations will not only benefit Afghanistan but also bolster security and progress across the region.”

At the UN gathering, leaders from Central Asia and Turkey highlighted the role of international cooperation in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev called for coordinated global efforts to address Afghanistan’s challenges, warning that neglecting the situation could undermine both regional and global security.

Similarly, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey urged the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets and pressed the Taliban to adopt a more inclusive approach to governance.

According to the caretaker government, fostering constructive ties with neighbors and the international community can help ease current crises and improve Afghanistan’s economic and social outlook.
