China: Broad Recognition of Palestine Reflects Global Consensus

DID Press: Chinese FM spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, on Wednesday (September 24) said that recognition of the State of Palestine by 157 UN member states reflects the “fundamental will and common aspiration of the international community.”

He noted that Palestinian issue remains at the heart of the Middle East crisis, stressing: “The two-state solution is the only viable path to resolving the Palestinian question.”

According to the spokesperson, China will continue to work with the international community to support the Palestinian people’s pursuit of independence and statehood, and to push for a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution.

His remarks come as more than 30 countries — including the United States, Israel, Japan, and Germany — have yet to recognize Palestine as a state.
