DID Press: Indian FM S. Jaishankar, in his address to the UN General Assembly, labeled Pakistan as the “epicentre of terrorism,” asserting that New Delhi will never bow to terrorist threats.

Jaishankar stressed that many international terrorist attacks in recent decades trace back to Pakistan.
“While standing firm on our rights, we must face threats decisively. Combating terrorism is a special priority because it is a toxic mix of fanaticism, violence, intolerance, and fear,” he said. “India has faced this challenge since independence, as it has a neighbor that serves as the epicentre of global terrorism.”
Rejecting claims made by Pakistan and U.S. President Donald Trump, the Indian foreign minister said that Pakistan requested a ceasefire following Indian airstrikes on May 9 and 10, which targeted several Pakistani airbases.
“If Pakistan’s prime minister truly seeks peace with India, the path is clear — Islamabad must immediately shut down all terrorist camps and hand over the wanted militants to India,” said Gahlot, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, told the Assembly in response to Islamabad’s call for peace.
“It is also ironic that a country drowning in hatred, prejudice, and intolerance dares to lecture this Assembly on matters of faith,” Gahlot added.
