DID Press: Dozens of U.S. Air Force refueling aircraft, including KC-135s and KC-46s, have been moved from the Atlantic to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, an unusual deployment coinciding with a secretive meeting of hundreds of U.S. generals and admirals in Quantico.
According to the military news site Army Recognition, at least twelve of these tankers were relocated simultaneously, marking one of the largest recent U.S. Air Force transfers. The U.S. military has not provided details on the purpose of the deployment, but analysts say these aerial tankers play a crucial role in supporting long-range bomber and stealth fighter operations.
The report also noted that previous large-scale movements of KC-135 tankers have preceded U.S. strikes on militant positions in Iraq. Observers suggest that the recent deployment, coinciding with the confidential Quantico meeting, could indicate planning for potential military operations or regional preparations.
