Taliban Approve Over 42,000 Paper ID Cards in First Half of 1404
DID Press: During the first six months of 1404(solar year), a total of 42,739 paper identity cards were verified. Of these, 25,932 were approved in person, while 17,347 were verified remotely for Afghanistan citizens living abroad, Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Department of Statistics and Information announced.

The department’s Identity Verification and Archives Directorate also reviewed and recorded the identities of more than 1.32 million applicants.
In addition to verifying identity cards, the department is responsible for scanning, digitizing, and archiving identification documents, and provides information on the validity or potential forgery of IDs to other Taliban government institutions. Officials emphasized that they aim to deliver identity services accurately and systematically.
