Lottery Winner Hospitalized with Pulmonary Embolism after Luxury Lifestyle

DID Press: Adam Lopez, a 39-year-old former forklift driver who won £1 million in a lottery two months ago, was hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism following weeks of partying and indulgent living.

Lopez, who previously worked in heavy vehicle operations in the UK, was admitted to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital just a few weeks after becoming a millionaire.

In an interview, he said, “I knew what I was doing would catch up with me eventually, and it ended up almost in the worst possible way. It was a huge wake-up call.”

After receiving his prize, Lopez quit his job and devoted himself to a lifestyle of continuous parties and excess. He explained that he wanted to “experience a life I’d never had before,” but after three months of this lifestyle, he developed a blood clot in his leg that spread to his lungs.

The 39-year-old remained hospitalized for eight and a half days and has since vowed to change his habits, focusing on both physical and mental health.
