Kabulov: Moscow Format Talks Not Discuss Bagram
DID Press: Russia’s special envoy for Afghanistan has confirmed that the seventh Moscow Format meeting will not discuss the potential transfer of Bagram Airbase to the United States.

On Tuesday, Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s presidential envoy for Afghanistan, told reporters that the topic of handing over Bagram Airbase is not on the agenda of the Moscow Format talks. “This issue will not be raised, nor is it scheduled for discussion,” he said.
The meeting, which includes representatives from regional countries such as Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, and the Taliban’s interim government, focuses on recent developments in Afghanistan. It is considered one of the key platforms for dialogue on the country’s political and security future.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had warned that “bad things” may happen if Bagram Airbase is not returned to the United States, prompting wide international reactions. However, Moscow appears intent on avoiding involvement in the dispute.
