DID Press: As winter approaches and irregular rainfall intensifies across Afghanistan, UNICEF has warned that Afghanistan children face growing risks from floods, infectious diseases, and severe cold.

The United Nations Children’s Fund said millions of children in Afghanistan are now in serious danger due to recent erratic weather patterns and worsening humanitarian conditions.
According to UNICEF, lack of adequate healthcare services, proper shelter, and limited access to medicine leaves children particularly vulnerable to respiratory infections, contagious diseases, and hypothermia.
The agency urged the international community to take immediate action by providing emergency assistance, shelter, heating supplies, and medical care to children and vulnerable families.
UNICEF also cautioned that if the current situation persists, child mortality rates in Afghanistan may rise significantly in the coming months.
