Turkish Official: Peace in Afghanistan Impossible without Women’s Rights

DID Press: Senior adviser to the Turkish president, Yalçın Topçu, said on Wednesday that lasting peace in Afghanistan can only be achieved through an inclusive government that guarantees fundamental human rights, particularly those of women and girls.

Topçu made the remarks during a meeting with Afghanistan political activists, emphasizing that stability in Afghanistan is not possible without the participation of all segments of society in the country’s political structures.

He reaffirmed Turkey’s consistent position on Afghanistan, noting that Ankara has repeatedly raised the issue at regional and international meetings and will continue to do so.

Topçu stressed that women’s inclusion in political decision-making is not only a moral and human necessity but also essential for Afghanistan’s political, economic, and social stability.
