1st Session of Jamiat-e Islami party Insists on Strengthening System, Active Participation in Peace process, Convening its Congress

Sayed Enayatullah Shadab, the new head of Jamiat-e Islami party chaired the first meeting of the leadership council of the party on Thursday with Chief Executive Ata Mohammad Noor and 42 members of the leadership council in attendance.

The meeting had comprehensive discussions over current status of the country, political developments as well as supporting and advancing the peace process.


In the meeting, the members of the leadership council stressed that Jamiat-e Islami as a major political stream believes that our people deserve peace, therefore, its active presence must be tangible and effective at all stages.

The leadership council also emphasized the party’s engagement in the government, given the strengthening of the country’s system.
In other part of the session, the establishment of executive council committees was discussed and it was decided that some committees should be activated as soon as possible.

The meeting decided that the preparatory committee for holding the general assembly should start its work as soon as possible and prepare the ground for convening the congress.
The meeting thanked those who have tried to resolve the disputes among the members of the party’s leadership.
