2 Candidates in Khost Distributed Fake Tazkira to 55,000 Pakistani migrants: MP

“two candidates for the Wolesi Jirga election distributed 55,000 fake tazkira (national ID cards) to Pakistani migrants in order to vote in favor of them,” the representative added.
The political parties pushed to change the electoral system for the 20 Oct. election, so that the election would be held based on the parties’ share; but the government refused the parties’ suggestion.
Therefore, some candidates for the parliamentary election, especially the sons of many leaders of political parties, run for the parliamentary election from the parties’ address.
According to unconfirmed reports, the primary result of the parliamentary election that was gathered from the polling stations indicates that most of the party candidates did not get the vote they needed to enter the parliament.
“based on the primary result, all party candidates lost the election in Khost and are unable to enter the parliament,” said Kamal Naser Usoli, an MP from eastern Khost province.
According to the list of candidates for the parliamentary elections, only two people named Mohammad Musa Khavarin and Abdulwali Ekhlas Sabri nominated themselves from the address of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Party.
“people do not have a good memory from the political parties and therefore they did not vote to candidates nominated from the party’s address,” the MP added.
On the other hand, Abdul Latif Zhuanday, the representative of the people of Khost in the Senate, said the number of voters in Khost province reached 90 thousand, while the entire population of this province is not this much.
According to him, 34 thousand people registered themselves in voter registration process in eastern Khost province.
“two of Khost’s parliamentary candidates have distributed 55,000 fake tazkira to the Pakistani immigrants during the electoral process, asking them to vote in favor of them on election day, paying them money,” Mr. Zhuanday said, without mentioning any name.
He urged from the IEC to seriously investigate the issue.
This comes as widespread fraud was previously reported in some polling centers in a number of provinces. However, the election commission has emphasised that it will not allow anyone to go to the next parliament by fraud and force.
