Taliban Confirms Full Control of Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi

DID Press: Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, confirmed that Afghanistan embassy in New Delhi is now operating entirely under the control of Taliban administration.

Responding to a question about the embassy’s current status, Muttaqi said, “The embassy is completely under our control. [Control of caretaker government]. Even some of those who once fought against us are now working alongside us.”

This marks the first public acknowledgment by a senior Taliban official of full administrative authority over one of Afghanistan’s key diplomatic missions abroad — particularly in India, a country that has not formally recognized the Taliban government but has recently maintained limited and cautious engagement with it.
