Afghanistan Begins Polio Vaccination Drive in Kunar, Nuristan and Laghman

DID Press: “Polio-Free Afghanistan” health initiative announced a new vaccination campaign targeting children in three eastern provinces — Kunar, Nuristan, and Laghman.

According to the organization, the drive is set to begin next week and will use a combination of injectable and oral polio vaccines to boost children’s immunity against poliovirus.

The campaign aims to prevent the spread of polio in vulnerable areas and strengthen protection among children against highly infectious disease.

Officials from the “Polio-Free Afghanistan” program stressed that continued vaccination efforts remain vital to achieving complete eradication of the disease in the country.

The campaign is being implemented in coordination with national and international health organizations. Families are urged to ensure their children receive the vaccine and contribute to the success of nationwide effort.
