Taliban FM Returns to Kabul after Controversial Visit to India
DID Press: Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister returned to Kabul following a week-long and widely debated trip to India.

Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, confirmed that Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s acting Foreign Minister, arrived in Kabul today after concluding his seven-day visit to India.
During the trip, Muttaqi held meetings with several Indian officials, Afghanistan representatives residing in India, and scholars and students of Darul Uloom Deobandi.
Although no official details have been released regarding the content of the talks between Indian authorities and the Taliban delegation, the visit has generated mixed reactions across regional political and media circles.
This marks the first official visit by a senior Taliban official to India since the group’s return to power in August 2021 — a trip seen as politically sensitive and met with criticism from Taliban opponents.
