Malaysia-Led Massive Flotilla to Challenge Gaza Naval Blockade
DID Press: A coalition of Islamic non-governmental organizations in Malaysia has announced plans to launch what it calls the “Fourth Global Freedom Flotilla,” a humanitarian convoy of nearly 1,000 ships set to sail for the Gaza Strip next month in an effort to challenge the ongoing Israeli naval blockade.

Muhammad Azmi Abdul Hamid, president of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), said the mission will build on lessons from previous flotillas and involve broader international coordination to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
He said the initiative aims to break maritime restrictions that have limited the entry of essential goods and services into the territory, adding that organizers have strengthened planning and security measures to ensure the convoy’s success.
Further details on the exact departure date, route, and cooperation with international bodies have not yet been disclosed. The coalition has called on the international community to support the mission and ensure humanitarian access to Gaza’s population.
