DID Press: In a historic wave of dissent against President Donald Trump’s administration, more than seven million Americans took to the streets on Saturday across 2,500 cities — including Washington, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco — under the slogan “No King.”

According to Axios, these nationwide protests represent the largest demonstrations in the U.S. since 2020, with participants condemning what they described as Trump’s efforts to consolidate power and impose “modern authoritarianism.”
Protesters carried banners denouncing the federal government’s concentration of power, its immigration crackdowns, and the deployment of federal forces in Democrat-led states. They accused Trump of undermining democratic institutions and eroding civil liberties.
Organizers of the “No King” campaign said the movement seeks to resist the “militarization and autocratic tendencies” of Trump’s government, calling for stronger protections for democracy and minority rights.
The latest rallies follow a previous wave of demonstrations in July, which erupted after large-scale immigration raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeting migrants and asylum seekers — actions that fueled widespread outrage.
Television networks reported continued nighttime protests in several southern states, while analysts warned that the growing unrest reflects deepening political polarization and social fragmentation across the United States.
