Hamas Endorses Formation of Joint Governing Committee for Gaza

DID Press: Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has agreed to the formation of a joint committee to administer Gaza Strip and has called for the process to be expedited.

Hazem Qassem, a senior Hamas official, announced that the movement had approved the creation of a committee to manage Gaza’s affairs, emphasizing that this body should be formed with the consensus of all Palestinian factions.

According to Qassem, the goal of this committee is to ensure coordinated governance and prevent any political or administrative vacuum in the Gaza Strip after months of conflict.

He added that the existing governmental institutions in Gaza will continue to operate until the new committee is established, ensuring that public services are not disrupted.
