Afghanistani Artists Shine at Iran’s Homam Festival for Disabled Artists

DID Press: Afghanistani artists have drawn international attention at the fourth Homam International Festival that will be held from October 23-29 at Iran’s Art Academy, showcasing works by artists with disabilities.

Over 415 selected pieces, chosen from nearly 3,000 submissions from 33 countries, are competing in visual arts, handicrafts, and music categories. Participants include artists from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, South Korea, South Africa, Armenia, Pakistan, India, Spain, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Lebanon, and Palestine.

Two Afghanistani artists based in Europe presented distinctive calligraphy and Quranic artworks, earning praise from the international jury for their skill and unique style.

The festival seeks to promote artistic expression among people with disabilities and foster cross-cultural exchange, marking one of Iran’s key events highlighting disabled artists’ talents.
