Taliban Warns Pakistan: Any Cross-Border Attack to Face Retaliation

DID Press: Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, Taliban’s Defense Minister, has warned Pakistan that Afghanistan will respond to any potential cross-border aggression, stressing that Kabul will not allow its foreign policy to be censored and will shape its relations based on national interests.

In an interview with TOLOnews from Doha, Mujahid said that Islamabad, in the presence of third-party mediators, had pledged to refrain from attacking Afghanistan and to honor the recent agreement between the two sides.

“Any act of aggression by Pakistan will be met with a reciprocal response,” Mujahid warned.

He added that trade relations between the two countries will soon return to normal under the recent agreement, emphasizing that “Afghanistan is an independent nation that seeks good relations with all countries based on its own interests.”

Commenting on the situation of Afghanistani refugees in Pakistan, the minister said that recent talks stressed the need for humane treatment of refugees.

Mujahid clarified that Durand Line issue was not discussed in the recent negotiations, describing it as “a matter for the nations themselves.”

He further noted that the next round of talks, scheduled to take place in Turkey, will focus on implementing the current agreement between Kabul and Islamabad.

Responding to Islamabad’s concerns over Kabul’s ties with New Delhi, Mujahid said, “No one has the right to censor Afghanistan’s foreign policy. Our relations with India were not discussed in any negotiations, and no one dares raise such a matter with me.”

With these remarks, Mujahid sent a clear message to Pakistan that the Taliban government views its foreign policy as independent from regional pressures and geopolitical rivalries.
