Emirates Cargo Plane Crashes off Hong Kong Runway, Two Dead
DID Press: An Emirates cargo Boeing aircraft crashed into the sea near Hong Kong International Airport after veering off the runway during landing when it collided with an airport security vehicle, killing two airport personnel.

According to local media, the two airport security officers, aged 30 and 41, died after their vehicle plunged into the water. All four crew members on board escaped through the emergency exit and were rescued by emergency teams.
Airport authorities said at a press conference that the cargo aircraft broke into two sections following the impact and that no distress signal had been received before the crash. Search and rescue teams are currently working to recover the plane’s black boxes from the sea.
This is the second fatal accident in the history of Hong Kong International Airport since its opening in 1998.
