Taliban Seize “Sayed Ishaq Gilani Town” in Nangarhar

DID Press: Taliban government has announced that a special court handling land disputes has transferred ownership of Sayed Ishaq Gilani Town in Surkh Rod district, Nangarhar, to the government.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice on Wednesday, 22 Oct, after a comprehensive review of ownership documents, real estate offices, and relevant administrative records, the court concluded that the land was not legally purchased from the government.

The ministry noted that individuals who bought plots in the town must seek their rights from the original sellers.

Spanning over 5,000 acres, Sayed Ishaq Gilani Town was one of the largest private residential projects in Nangarhar. So far, the Gilani family or previous owners have not publicly responded to the Taliban’s decision.
