Domestic, Foreign Investors Interested in Afghanistan Water, Energy Projects
DID Press: Representatives of several domestic and international companies have expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan’s water and energy sectors, according to the Taliban-led Ministry of Energy and Water.

During a recent investment promotion conference, ministry officials presented key infrastructure and renewable energy projects, highlighting challenges such as water scarcity, rising power demand, and climate change.
Participants from regional and international firms said they are ready to collaborate in projects including drinking water supply, irrigation systems, renewable power generation, and electricity distribution networks.
The ministry assured investors that Afghanistan now offers a “secure and favorable investment climate,” pledging legal protections, technical support, and administrative facilitation to attract both domestic and foreign capital.
Officials emphasized that private sector engagement is essential to meeting the country’s growing energy and water needs and to advancing Afghanistan’s economic reconstruction.
