DID Press: Authorities in Pennsylvania have confirmed that multiple people were shot during a shooting incident at Lincoln University, one of the oldest historically Black universities in the United States. The exact number of victims and their conditions have not yet been released.

According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, police and emergency services responded to reports of gunfire on campus near the town of Oxford during the university’s homecoming weekend celebrations.
“It appears that tonight we have experienced a mass shooting at Lincoln University,” said Eric Roe, Commissioner of Chester County, in a statement cited by NBC News. He also urged the public to pray for the safety of students, faculty, and first responders.
Founded in 1854, Lincoln University is recognized as the first degree-granting institution for African Americans in the United States. It is located about 120 miles northwest of Howard University in Washington, D.C.
This latest incident comes just one night after another shooting near Howard University, further heightening concerns about security at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country.
