DID Press: Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to a military command center, was briefed on his country’s latest advances in the war against Ukraine. Moscow announced that approximately 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been encircled in the Kupiansk and Krasnoarmiysk sectors, and a strategic bridge over the Siverskyi Donets River has come under Russian control.

According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, around 5,000 Ukrainian troops are surrounded in the Kupiansk axis and 5,500 in the Krasnoarmiysk axis. The Russian military has also captured a key bridge over the Siverskyi Donets, halting Ukrainian movements in the area.
Russian forces are reportedly completing the liberation of the Yampil region, and Volchansk is said to be 70% under Russian control. In total, 31 Ukrainian battalions are encircled across the Krasnoarmiysk and Dmytriv axes.
During the briefing with Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and senior military commanders, Putin praised Russian advances in Kupiansk and commended military progress in other regions, calling it the fulfillment of Moscow’s war objectives.
