Amnesty International Urges US to Stop Killings in International Waters
DID Press: Amnesty International has called on the United States Congress to immediately halt lethal military operations targeting vessels in international waters, emphasizing that no government or army should wield the power to kill without accountability.

In a recent statement, the organization condemned unlawful US military attacks that have reportedly claimed at least 34 lives, describing them as clear violations of international law and inhumane actions.
Amnesty International highlighted that the use of deadly force against unidentified maritime targets lacks any legal justification and poses a serious threat to international security. The group warned that continued attacks undermine the principle of state accountability and set a dangerous precedent for other nations.
The statement read: “If the US government can target anyone, anywhere, at any time based solely on a ‘terrorist’ label, no individual in the world can be guaranteed personal safety.”
Amnesty International urged Congress to take immediate action to stop such operations and to investigate the legal responsibility of the military and government officials involved. The organization stressed that no state or army should have the authority to kill without accountability.
The group also warned that persisting in these actions could escalate regional tensions and lead to further widespread violations of human rights in international waters.
