13,000 Returnees from Iran Employed at Herat Industrial Park
DID Press: Over 13,000 Afghanistani migrants who have returned from Iran are now employed in factories and production facilities located in Herat’s Industrial Park, say provincial Taliban officials.

Abdul Naser Amin, head of Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, said that active factories in the park — in coordination with the Department of Labor and Social Affairs — are currently recruiting returnees, and the process will continue in the coming weeks.
The growing number of workers has led to increased domestic production while also raising wage levels in Herat’s labor market, he added.
Taliban government had previously pledged to provide employment and living opportunities for returnees from neighboring countries, including Iran and Pakistan.
The interim administration has also announced the establishment of special residential townships for returnees in various provinces and allocated lands to eligible families.
