Torkham Reopened after Taliban Diplomatic Push
DID Press: Torkham border crossing, which had been closed following recent tensions between the Taliban government and Pakistan, was reopened Saturday, November 1, and the process of returning Afghanistani refugees has been resumed from Pakistan.

Sardar Ahmad Shakib, Taliban government’s ambassador in Islamabad, announced that officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed to reopen the route following repeated discussions and follow-ups by the Taliban mission in Islamabad.
In recent days, the closure of the crossing had led to large gatherings and severe difficulties for Afghanistan migrants and travelers stranded on both sides of the border.
Taliban authorities had previously urged Islamabad to facilitate the return of Afghanistan migrants and avoid creating obstacles for those crossing the border.
Torkham is one of the key border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan, used by thousands of travelers and migrants daily.
