Ready to Assist Samangan Quake Victims, Says Iran

DID Press: Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, in a statement expressing condolences over the recent earthquake in Afghanistan’s Samangan province, announced that Iran will provide necessary assistance to the affected people after coordination with local authorities and assessing the needs of the affected areas.

Iran Embassy in Kabul issued a statement on Monday, November 3, saying that the recent earthquake in northern Afghanistan, especially in Samangan province, has inflicted human casualties and financial losses.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul expresses deep sympathy with the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery for the wounded. We ask the Almighty God for mercy and forgiveness for those who lost their lives in this incident,” reads the statement.

The embassy emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the people of Afghanistan and, following consultations with local officials and an assessment of the level of damage, will send humanitarian and relief assistance to the earthquake-affected areas.
