India Urges Immediate End to Conflicts in Gaza
DID Press: During a meeting between Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s Foreign Minister, and S. Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs in New Delhi, India reiterated its support for the Gaza peace initiative and stressed the urgent need to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This marks the first official visit of Israel’s foreign minister to India.

According to Indian media reports, Jaishankar expressed hope for the success of the Gaza peace initiative, sayingIndia supports any initiative that lead to lasting peace and long-term solutions in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism, investment, emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, and the expansion of strategic relations. India and Israel also signed an agreement for the training of young diplomats.
Gideon Sa’ar highlighted the shared threat of terrorism facing both nations, saying, “Radical terrorism is a common threat to Israel and India. We strongly condemn the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam.”
“Israel is facing a unique phenomenon that I call ‘terror states’: Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the Houthis in Yemen. Dismantling these structures is essential for regional stability. The disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza are key components of President Trump’s peace plan, and we will not retreat from that position,” he added.
Sa’ar also emphasized the importance of regional connectivity projects, including the India-Israel-UAE-U.S. initiative and the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), adding, “the future of regional cooperation is promising, and we aim to strengthen connectivity between South Asia, West Asia, and Europe.”
The meeting took place as part of joint efforts by both countries to deepen political, economic, and security ties.
