Pakistan President Holds Talks with Qatar Emir on Afghanistan

DID Press: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari met with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha to discuss developments in Afghanistan.

In a statement released on Wednesday, November 5, President Zardari expressed appreciation for Qatar’s constructive role in the Doha talks on Afghanistan and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Qatar, particularly in defense and economic sectors.

He added that the Qatari Emir also expressed his interest in strengthening bilateral relations and announced plans to visit Pakistan in the near future.

Qatar has played a prominent role in Afghanistan’s recent political developments.
