Turkey Issues Arrest Warrants for Netanyahu, 36 Israeli Officials

DID Press: In an unprecedented move, Turkey’s Attorney General issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 36 senior military and political officials, accusing them of genocide and crimes against humanity during the Gaza conflict.

The Turkish Attorney General’s office said the international arrest warrants were issued after reviewing evidence related to Israeli military operations in Gaza and reports from human rights organizations.

According to Turkish media, the charges include genocide, crimes against humanity, and widespread violations of international law in connection with the Gaza war.

Judicial sources in Ankara said that the case has been filed based on provisions of the Geneva Conventions and the principles of the International Criminal Court.

Turkey has announced that the warrants will be transmitted through international judicial cooperation channels, and the accused could be detained if they enter Turkish territory or countries with which Turkey has extradition agreements.
