Erdogan Urges Islamabad and Kabul to Uphold Truce
DID Press: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, emphasized the necessity of preserving the ceasefire between the government of Pakistan and the Taliban government, noting that Ankara is closely monitoring ongoing talks aimed at achieving sustainable stability between the two countries.

According to a statement from the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, Erdoğan said that Turkey is “closely following developments regarding terrorist attacks in Pakistan and tensions with Afghanistan” and expressed hope that the ongoing negotiations, mediated by Turkey, would produce tangible results for regional stability.
“Turkey and Pakistan are strengthening cooperation across various sectors, particularly trade, energy, and defense industries,” he added. Erdoğan also highlighted the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the need to address this issue within the framework of the United Nations.
Erdoğan and Sharif were in Baku to participate in Azerbaijan’s Victory Day celebrations and attended a special military parade marking the occasion.
