Ireland Votes to Suspend Israel from UEFA Competitions
DID Press: The Football Association of Ireland (FAI), in an extraordinary meeting, voted overwhelmingly to submit a formal proposal to UEFA to ban the participation of the Israeli regime in European club and national competitions.

The FAI announced that in its recent extraordinary session, a strong majority voted to present a proposal to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to suspend and prohibit the participation of the Israeli regime in all European club and national competitions.
According to the official statement, this decision was taken in response to widespread concerns over the continuation of Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians and violations of humanitarian and sporting principles.
The Football Association of Ireland emphasized that football, as a global and peace-promoting sport, cannot remain indifferent to war crimes and human suffering in Gaza. The statement added: “It is time for European sporting institutions to assume their ethical responsibility in the face of blatant human rights violations and take concrete action.”
