Dushanbe: No Safe Haven for Taliban Opponents in Tajikistan
DID Press: A high-ranking delegation of Tajik officials visiting Afghanistan’s Kunduz province reaffirmed Dushanbe’s firm stance toward opponents of the Taliban government, saying that “there is no safe haven for them in Tajikistan.”

During a meeting with Mawlawi Habiburrahman Saheeb, the Taliban-appointed deputy governor of Kunduz, the deputy governor of Tajikistan’s Khatlon province said that the Tajik government does not allow any anti-Taliban groups to operate within its territory.
Both sides agreed to strengthen security cooperation, establish joint border control, and enhance efforts in combating drug trafficking.
This position comes amid ongoing sensitivity over the alleged presence of Taliban opposition groups in Tajikistan — an issue that has remained a point of tension in bilateral relations since the collapse of Afghanistan’s former republic government.
