Taliban: No Unauthorized Individuals Have Access to U.S. Weapons Left in Afghanistan
DIDPress: The Taliban government’s Ministry of Interior has announced that weapons and military equipment left behind by U.S. forces in Afghanistan have not fallen into the hands of any unauthorized individuals and are fully under the control of the government, kept solely for national defense purposes.

According to the ministry’s statement, these weapons are maintained exclusively for the “defense of the country’s territory” and are not intended for unauthorized use or transfer to informal armed groups.
Earlier reports had suggested that some of these weapons might have been sold on the black market or transferred to militant groups. However, the Taliban government has rejected these claims, urging trust in its control and oversight mechanisms.
The Taliban also described its talks with foreign countries regarding the retrieval or inspection of stockpiles as part of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty framework.
