FIFA Opens Technical Door to Afghanistan
DID Press: In a historic development, the President of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has been appointed as a member of FIFA’s Technical and Development Committee.

The AFF announced that Mohammad Yousuf Kargar has been selected by the global football governing body to serve on the committee responsible for technical guidance and development strategies.
A special ceremony was held at the National Olympic Committee Hall, organized by Afghanistan’s Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, to honor this achievement.
FIFA’s Technical and Development Committee is a key decision-making body in matters of policy, education, and football development for member countries. Membership allows representatives to play a direct role in shaping technical and operational football strategies at the global level.
Kargar, who has long served in managerial and technical positions within Afghan football, becomes the first official Afghan representative in FIFA’s technical structures.
The AFF highlighted that this selection marks Afghanistan’s first presence in one of FIFA’s major committees and is expected to pave the way for increased international collaboration and the growth of football in the country.
