DID Press: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro condemned the deployment of U.S. troops and equipment in the Caribbean, warning Washington not to turn Venezuela into another war zone like Afghanistan.

Speaking in Caracas, Maduro criticized the extensive presence of U.S. naval forces, describing it as reminiscent of Washington’s interventionist patterns in countries long embroiled in protracted, fruitless conflicts.
Referring to the long-running war in Afghanistan and U.S. interventions in Libya, he stressed that Venezuela would not allow a similar scenario to unfold on its territory.
“We are a peace-loving nation, but if necessary, we will defend our land against any threat,” Maduro added.
