DID Press: In a large public gathering in western Herat province, over two thousand people rallied in support of Gazans and the Palestinian resistance, emphasizing the importance of unity within the Islamic world.
The rally, titled “Palestine: The Axis of Islamic Unity,” was held Saturday with enthusiastic participation from more than two thousand Herat residents.
Participants highlighted their moral support for the people of Gaza and Palestinian resistance groups, describing the current situation in the region as a test for global Islamic unity.
The event drew scholars, university professors, cultural figures, and youth. Speakers framed defending Gaza as a “religious duty” for Muslims and stressed the need to raise awareness and strengthen solidarity across the Islamic community.
Mawlavi Hafizi, an official from the cultural organization Forough and one of the event organizers, said the rally aimed to convey the realities of the Gaza conflict to Afghanistan’s younger generation. He noted that the organization had previously promoted awareness of the Palestinian issue through a large reading competition involving four thousand participants.
