Nimroz Authorities Recover 48 Historical Artifacts

DID Press: Nimroz local officials under the Taliban announced that security forces in the province have discovered 48 historical artifacts along the Zaranj–Dilaram route and transferred them to the local museum.

According to domestic media, Habibullah Elham, head of the Taliban Information and Culture Department in Nimroz, said on Monday (Nov. 17) that the recovered artifacts, belonging to various historical periods, were handed over to the Nimroz provincial museum.

Elham highlighted increased efforts to prevent cultural heritage smuggling, emphasizing that under the Taliban leadership’s directive, no individual or group is permitted to steal, trade, or destroy these artifacts. Coordination among security agencies has been strengthened to safeguard this heritage.

This discovery comes as Afghanistan, with its rich historical background, continues to face threats of artifact smuggling and destruction, with experts underlining the preservation of cultural heritage as a key national priority.
