Taliban FM Condemns Pakistan’s Treatment of Afghan Refugees

DID Press: Taliban’s Foreign Minister strongly criticized Pakistan’s treatment of Afghanistan refugees during a joint meeting with United Nations agencies, accusing Islamabad of contributing to a worsening humanitarian crisis.

He said that Pakistan is expelling Afghans from their homes while at the same time blocking their return routes into Afghanistan.

Muttaqi said such actions violate humanitarian principles and international law, pushing the refugee situation into a critical phase.

He warned that the continuation of these policies could trigger a “major humanitarian crisis” and urged international organizations to step in to manage and reduce the harm caused.

Muttaqi added that Afghanistan cannot handle the large-scale forced return of refugees alone, stressing the need for regional and international cooperation to support them.
