Taliban Commerce Minister to Visit India in Bid to Diversify Trade Routes

DID Press: Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban government’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, will travel to New Delhi on Wednesday (Nov. 19) for talks aimed at expanding economic cooperation and developing alternative trade corridors.

The visit comes as Kabul seeks to reduce its dependence on Pakistan by exploring new commercial routes. Azizi had recently visited Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province to assess potential alternative pathways for Afghan trade through Iranian territory.

In New Delhi, he is expected to discuss exports, imports, and strengthened transit options with Indian officials as Afghanistan looks to diversify its regional trade partnerships.
