Syria, UN Condemn Israeli Officials’ Entry to Buffer Zone
DID Press: Syrian government has strongly condemned Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and a number of senior Israeli officials for entering southern Syria and visiting the buffer zone, calling the move a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty.

The United Nations also voiced concern. Najat Rochdi, Deputy UN Special Envoy for Syria, urged an end to Israeli “violations” and called for full adherence to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which defines the buffer zone between Syria and Israel and is considered essential for maintaining stability in the area.
Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials entered the buffer zone in southern Syria on Monday (Nov. 17), a move that has triggered sharp criticism from Damascus.
