Over 300 Afghan Migrants Deported from Turkey in Two Days

DID Press: Turkey has deported at least 300 Afghan migrants within two days for not possessing valid residence documents, reported Turkish media outlets.

According to the reports, the individuals were first detained in the city of Van and later transferred to Kabul on a charter flight.

In a statement issued by the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees in Afghanistan, officials claimed that some of the deported individuals did hold legal documents but were nevertheless deported.

These developments come amid earlier reports of harsh and violent treatment of Afghan migrants inside Türkey’s “removal centers.”

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s consulate in Turkey has denied claims of forced deportations of Afghan migrants, calling such reports inaccurate.
