Araghchi: Iran–Afghanistan Trade Surpasses Iran’s Total Trade with EU

DID Press: Iran’s Foreign Minister announced a significant increase in trade volume between Iran and Afghanistan, saying that Iran’s current trade with Afghanistan now exceeds the country’s total trade with all European nations.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran must place special focus on Afghanistan, noting that the border districts shared with this eastern neighbor can play a key role in expanding economic relations and boosting trade.

“By developing border infrastructure and facilitating trade procedures, numerous economic opportunities will emerge for both countries,” He added.

The Foreign Minister also highlighted the importance of increasing Iran’s exports to Afghanistan and utilizing the commercial potential of both sides. He stressed that strengthening economic cooperation can contribute to improving the livelihood of border communities and generating employment in border regions.
