Trump: Ikhwan-ul-Muslemin a “Foreign Terrorist Organization”

DID Press: A U.S. media outlet reported that President Donald Trump intends to formally designate Ikhwan-ul-Muslemin as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” a move expected to have significant political and security implications across the Middle East.

According to Al Arabiya, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that his administration is finalizing the documents required to classify Ikhwan-ul-Muslemin as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization.”

The U.S. outlet Just the News reported Sunday, quoting Trump: “This action will be carried out in the strongest and most decisive terms, and the final documents are currently being prepared.”

In recent years, Ikhwan-ul-Muslemin has faced increasing restrictions in several Arab countries. Earlier this year, Jordan banned the group after thwarting a sabotage plot. Egypt, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates had previously declared the movement illegal.

If implemented, the potential U.S. designation could reshape Washington’s engagement with certain Arab states, influence regional policy, and increase pressure on networks affiliated with the movement.
