Afghan-American Community Condemns DC Shooting, Reaffirms Commitment to Peace

DID Press: A group of Afghan residents in Washington, D.C., has strongly condemned the shooting of two U.S. National Guard soldiers by an Afghan migrant, emphasizing that the incident does not reflect the views or values of the Afghan-American community.

In a statement, the community stressed that the violent actions of one individual cannot represent the beliefs and intentions of hundreds of thousands of Afghan-Americans who live in the U.S. and contribute positively to society.

The statement highlighted that Afghan-Americans stand united and vocal against any form of hatred, extremism, or violence. Community leaders also urged Afghans across the United States to speak out and condemn the attack.

The Afghan-American community concluded the statement by reaffirming their commitment to peaceful principles, respect for the law, and maintaining security in their host country.
